The New York guitarist reunites with two internationally acclaimed musicians for a second original transcontinental guitar shred collaboration, following “Disoriented Desire.”
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — New York-based guitarist, songwriter, and composer Michael Martello presents his latest original single, “Intrusive Thoughts,” featuring renowned guitarist Joel Hoekstra, known for his work with Whitesnake, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), and Cher, alongside Dustin Tomsen, an Ibanez-endorsed guitar virtuoso from Germany.
Following their previous collaboration, “Disoriented Desire,” the trio reunites for their second all-original transcontinental guitar shred project. Bringing together three distinctive musical styles, “Intrusive Thoughts” celebrates the power of creative expression, technical musicianship, and international collaboration.
The new track continues Martello’s exploration of instrumental rock and guitar-driven compositions, offering music enthusiasts another opportunity to experience the combined artistry of three accomplished guitarists.
A Powerful Fusion of International Guitar Talent
At the heart of “Intrusive Thoughts” is Michael Martello, whose original songwriting and guitar performance provide the creative foundation for the collaboration.
Joel Hoekstra, internationally recognized for his work with Whitesnake, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Cher, contributes his distinctive guitar artistry and extensive experience in the global rock music industry. His involvement brings an established rock presence to the project.
Joining from Germany, Dustin Tomsen adds his technical expertise and expressive guitar style. As an Ibanez-endorsed guitarist, Tomsen contributes a unique musical perspective, further strengthening the collaboration’s international character.
Together, the three musicians demonstrate how individual artistic identities can come together to create an original musical experience that crosses geographical boundaries.
Continuing the Journey Beyond “Disoriented Desire”
“Intrusive Thoughts” marks the next chapter in a creative partnership that began with “Disoriented Desire,” the trio’s first original transcontinental guitar collaboration.
Building on that foundation, Martello, Hoekstra, and Tomsen return with another original composition that reflects their shared dedication to instrumental rock, guitar performance, and musical experimentation.
Rather than relying on familiar arrangements, the collaboration emphasizes original songwriting and the creative possibilities that emerge when talented musicians unite across continents.
The project also highlights the growing importance of international partnerships in contemporary music, where creativity and artistic connection extend beyond traditional geographic boundaries.
Michael Martello: Bringing Original Guitar Music to the World
Hailing from New York, Michael Martello continues developing his artistic identity through original guitar-driven compositions and collaborations with internationally recognized musicians.
Influenced by artists ranging from Joe Satriani to Hans Zimmer, Martello draws inspiration from classic rock, instrumental guitar music, and cinematic musical expression.
His work reflects an ongoing commitment to combining technical musicianship with creativity, allowing the electric guitar to serve as a powerful form of artistic storytelling.
With “Intrusive Thoughts,” Martello expands his growing catalog of original collaborations while continuing to connect with guitar enthusiasts and rock music audiences across the United States, Europe, and worldwide.
A New Chapter in International Guitar Collaboration
More than a continuation of their previous project, “Intrusive Thoughts” represents the creative connection between three musicians united by their passion for original guitar music.
The collaboration brings together Martello’s songwriting vision, Hoekstra’s established rock experience, and Tomsen’s distinctive technical approach.
